WWI Unit Test: Wed. Dec.19

On Wednesday, Dec. 19th, we will be having a WWI Unit Test. The test will consist of True/False Questions, a matching section, multiple choice  questions and a written section.

The test is comprehensive of the entire WWI Unit and will cover:
- the Causes of WWI
- Major Canadian Battles (Ypres, Somme, Vimy, Passchendaele)
- Significant Military Technologies
- War on the Homefront
- Conscription Crisis
- Wartime Legislation (War Measures Act, Wartime Elections Bill, Military Service Act)
- Maps of where Canadians fought and members of the two military alliances (Triple Entente and Triple                    Alliance)

Quiz: Major Canadian Battles of WWI Monday, Dec.10

Monday's Quiz on Major Canadian Battles of WWI will cover Ypres, Somme, Vimy, & Passchendale. You need to know:
When: the Year of the battle will suffice (If you know the month provide it as well).
Where: Country in which the battle was fought & rough region (northern, southern, etc.)
What: A brief summary of what happened
So What/Significance: summary of its importance/consequences/Cdn Casualties, etc.

Extended point form descriptions are perfectly acceptable for this Quiz.

Outbreak of WWI Quiz on Thursday, Nov.29

This Thursday, we will be having a quiz on the M.A.I.N. causes of WWI (militarism, alliances, imperialism & nationalism) and on the series of events that led to the outbreak of the Great War (July Crisis).

The quiz will consist of multiple choice, matching, map identification (Great Powers of Europe) and a couple of paragraph/written sections.

Quiz: Canadian Legal System (Wed. Nov 7)

On Wed., Nov. 7, we will be having a quiz on the Canadian Legal System & the Charter of Rights & Freedoms.
It will cover:
-Sources of Law
-The Rule of Law
-Criminal vs. Civil Law
-The Charter of Rights and Freedoms: Key Sections (you don't have to memorize every tiny point)
     -The Notwithstanding Clause: what it is, it's advantages and disadvantages
-Case Study: Charter Rights & Challenges
